Big dog lovers, meet Brooks! Brooks is a 3.5 year-old guy who looks like a mix of Aussie and Great Pyrenees with perhaps some Husky and who knows what else in his family tree. He came to us as a stray from an overcrowded county dog shelter so we don’t have any info on his true breed mix or his pre-shelter life. Although he has a serious look in his photos, this boy is a real softie. He loves giving “hugs” to his human friends which is why we think he may some Great Pyr in his DNA. Brooks gets along well with other dogs and also walks very nicely on a leash for a big dog. He has kept his crate spotless since he’s been with us and will bark to let us know it’s time to get outside for a potty break. He ought to be able to pick up the house rules quickly in his new home. Brooks would love a yard with a secure aboveground fence (no invisible fence for him) and a family who would love a 64 pound lap dog! This affectionate boy is going to make a fantastic companion for his new person or family. Brooks weighs about 64 pounds and his adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Brooks. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Brooks-ADOPTED!

Brooks is a strikingly beautiful dog.
Shortly after he arrived at Canine Lifeline, he was attracting attention from everyone because he is so handsome. He happily greeted everyone and yes, he did “hug” quite a few grateful people who instantly fell in love with him.
His photos (above) were taken recently when we were enjoying a lovely (and rare) sunny afternoon. But somehow, he didn’t photograph well in the bright light. The camera failed to capture his gentleness and the genuine warmth he displays to everyone he meets.
He really is a wonderful dog.
Brooks is a really beautiful dog that has a super unique look. He was SO sweet when I met him last weekend. He seemed very chilled out during the time I had him on a leash, just a kind of go with the flow type of guy. Brooks loved getting attention and being pet.
This guy would be great for someone looking for a big ball of affection and a potential cuddle bud. He’s sure to keep you warm with his fluffy coat too!
