Eddie is a friendly and outgoing 5 year-old Beagle/Doxie mix male who was adopted from us four years ago along with his sister Emily. They were recently returned because their family’s circumstances had changed and they were no longer able to care for them. Sadly, he came back to us very obese. Eddie’s ideal weight is about 30 pounds but when he was returned to us, he weighed in at a staggering 55 pounds. Thanks to his great foster mom Laurie, Eddie is now down to about 38 pounds with a strict diet and exercise program. His photos were taken recently and show how great he is looking now. Everyone knows that those last few pounds are always the hardest to lose but Eddie is committed to getting back to his healthiest and staying that way. Fortunately, he loves carrots and green beans as treats. Eddie will need a new home where his family will commit to his healthy lifestyle. Eddie really hates being crated so his foster mom has left him loose in the house when she’s gone and he has been fine with that. He is housetrained and walks nicely on a leash too. Eddie and Emily didn’t get along very well and Eddie has been much happier as the only dog in his foster home. He would love a new home where his family is around much of the time. Eddie does like to try to chase bicycles, joggers, etc on his walks so will need some follow up training in that area. He also needs a home without kitties. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Eddie had a recent dental cleaning so now has a beautiful white smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in Eddie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
