Chester-ADOPTED!

Chester is a very cute 5 year-old Collie/Shepherd mix male with a bobtail who’s a great size at only about 26 pounds. This bright-eyed and alert dog found himself not only homeless at an overcrowded county dog shelter but also heartworm positive making his chances of adoption almost nil. Chester made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needed. After two rounds of immiticide injection to kill the adult worms followed by 2 months of cage rest, Chester is now ready to find himself a great new home. He gets along well with other dogs but might be fine in his new home as an only dog provided his family has lots of time to spend with him. Chester may need some work on housetraining in his new home as it is likely he lived outside prior to coming to Canine Lifeline. While he was recuperating from heartworm treatment, Chester learned to relax in a crate and has done well with crate-training. He’s eager to experience just how wonderful a dog’s life can and should be with a new family. His adoption fee is $200. Chester’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Chester. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Chester’s heartworm treatment cost about $650. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Chester and Canine Lifeline!
