Gilligan-ADOPTED!

Gilligan is an adorable 12 week old Chihuahua/Papillon mix (at least that’s our best guess) male who came to us with his brother Skipper and two adult dogs, Abby and Atom, after they had been abandoned in a rural county. We suspect that they were part of a backyard breeding operation as a total of 4 small adult dogs and three pups were left abandoned. After being rescued and taken to a shelter, two of the pups (Gilligan and Skipper) and two of the adults (Abby and Atom) came to us for some TLC in a foster home before finding great new homes of their own. Gilligan is a very sweet little guy who loves playing with his brother Skipper so would enjoy a new home where he would have a small active dog to play with. He’s working on housetraining in his foster home and using pee pads to help in that process. Gilligan has not started work on the leash yet so will need to get exposed to that in his new home. Having a resident dog to follow in his new home will help him adjust to his new surroundings and routine. Puppies are loads of fun but also a lot of work. If interested, please make sure that you have both the time and energy to devote to a youngster like Gilligan. He weighs about 5.5 pounds at 12 weeks of age and expect he may be about 15-20 pounds when full-grown. He has a shorter coat with fluffy hair on his ears. Gilligan came to us with a broken tail so it has a permanent crook in it. His adoption fee is $275. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Gilligan. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
