Oscar-PENDING

Your heart really goes out to this sweet boy who was found running down a road in a rural area. A good Samaritan stopped to pick him up and found that he had likely been hit by a car as he was full of scrapes and scratches and had a badly injured eye. No owner was located so Oscar, a 3 year-old Schnauzer mix male, came to Canine Lifeline to get the medical attention that he needed. A visit to our vet revealed that he had lost all vision in his eye due to a detached retina so his damaged eye was removed. The other injuries he suffered were superficial and they have all healed nicely. Oscar is a very sweet boy who loves his human friends but is nervous around small children so needs a mature family. He’s a little tentative around other dogs right now because of the loss of his eye. He may enjoy being the only dog in his new home but if there is another dog, it should be a calm and mature dog who won’t try to roughhouse with Oscar. Oscar has excellent crate manners so is likely to be housetrained although we can’t guarantee it. He also walks very nicely on a leash so will be a great walking buddy. Oscar had laser focus on the kitties at the vet clinic so we are looking for a cat-free home for him. Oscar weighs about 38 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Oscar. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Oscar’s medical care cost about $400 so if you’d like to make a donation to our medical fund to help another dog like Oscar in the future, you may do so by clicking the DONATE button on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or mailing a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you!
