Penny-ADOPTED!

This sweet girl is Penny, a 1 year-old who looks like a mix of Chocolate Lab, Basset Hound, and Dachshund. We really have no idea as to her ancestry as she came to us as a stray from a rural county dog shelter. Upon arrival, a trip to our vet revealed that Penny was heartworm positive so she needed to go through lifesaving treatment before she was ready for adoption. Penny has done very well with her treatment and is now ready to make up for lost time and start enjoying her puppyhood again. This girl is VERY playful so would enjoy having another fun-loving canine or two in her new home. She can be a little shy at first meeting new people but it doesn’t take her long to let her guard down and make friends. Penny has done well with crating during her recuperation from heartworm treatment so should pick up the housetraining routine in her new home with some patience and consistency on the part of her new family. She would love to enroll in an obedience class with her new family to learn all she can about being a canine good citizen. Penny weighs about 28 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Penny. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Penny’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Penny and Canine Lifeline!
