Shelby-ADOPTED!

Shelby is a bright-eyed and alert 1 year-old Lab mix female who had the misfortune of testing positive for heartworms which virtually eliminated her chance of adoption at a rural county dog shelter. The shelter didn’t have the resources to treat her so asked Canine Lifeline for help with her. Shelby has completed her heartworm treatment with us and adjusted very well to the two months of cage rest required during her recuperation. She’s now ready to start having some fun! Shelby loves other dogs and would love to have a canine pal in her new home. She’s very exuberant when she first meets someone but she settles down nicely after you spend a few minutes with her. Shelby will need some work on the leash as she loves to charge ahead and explore. She has a very cute bunny hop to her step when she’s excited. Shelby keeps her crate spotless so is may be housetrained although we can’t guarantee it. She’s going to make a very loyal and devoted companion for one very lucky person or family. Shelby weighs about 40 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Shelby. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Shelby’s heartworm treatment cost about $650. If you’d like to make a donation to help with her care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Shelby and Canine Lifeline!
