Spuds is a very cute 1.5 year-old Border Collie/Beagle mix male with lots of spunk. He tested positive for heartworms at a rural county dog shelter which would have meant euthanasia there since they don’t have the resources to save HW positive dogs. Fortunately for Spuds, a shelter volunteer reached out to us for help with him so he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needed. Spuds was treated for heartworms in April 2016 and is now happily heartworm negative. As cute as he is, Spuds has a bit of a stubborn, independent streak so will do best in a home with a dog-experienced person. He tends to be a one-person dog and isn’t a dog who is comfortable welcoming lots of visitors into his home. Spuds would do best living in a rural area so he doesn’t have to interact with lots of new people on a daily basis when he’s out for some exercise. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and likes to wrestle and play with them but can be a little reactive when meeting new dogs on a leash. Spuds has excellent crate manners (although he’s not very fond of his crate!) so should pick up the housetraining routine quickly in his new home. He would do best in a home with a secure fenced yard and another dog to play with. Spuds weighs about 35 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email email@example.com if you’re interested in Spuds. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
