Baxter is a very handsome 2-3 year-old Boxer/Chocolate Lab mix male who came into a local county dog pound as a stray. He unfortunately tested positive for heartworms there so came to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needed. Baxter had his heartworm treatment the week of June 28 and is doing very well so should be available for adoption at the end of July. Baxter's been a really good boy in his foster home. He's excellent in his crate and gets along well with other dogs. He's supposed to stay quiet after his heartworm treatment so has been going outside with the little foster dogs and does very well with them. He seems to be housetrained and is very friendly and affectionate with people. Baxter's vet bills were around $250, so if you'd like to make a donation, please click on the ChipIn button to the right. Thank you from Baxter and Canine Lifeline! |

Clementine is a very sweet litte 7-8 year-old Beagle lady who came to Canine Lifeline from a rural county dog pound to give her more time to find a new home. She may have been around the block a few times but that just makes her much more wise and wonderful. Clementine came to us with teeth in serious need of a cleaning. She saw the doggie dentist the week of June 7 and after a couple of extractions, she now has pearly whites again and a beautiful smile! Clementine gets along very well with other dogs and really loves making friends with cats. She may also be housetrained. She would love a nice cozy home and a kind family. Clementine's dream home has a nice comfy dog bed for napping and a nice backyard for sniffing out all the great smells every day. Clementine's vet bills were around $250, so if you'd like to make a donation, please click on the ChipIn button to the right. Thank you from Clementine and Canine Lifeline! |

Durango is a very handsome 1-2 year-old Collie/Akita mix male who was picked up as a stray in the Cleveland area. When no owner came forward to claim him, he came to Canine Lifeline to find a new home. Durango has tested positive for heartworms so will start his treatment the week of July 12. He's a young dog so should do very well with his treatment and should be available for adoption in mid-August. Durango came to us already neutered and is great with other dogs. He also seems to be housetrained. Durango loves people but is a little handshy as if someone was mean to him in the past. He's very friendly and once he knows you're going to be nice to him, he warms up very quickly. Durango's vet bills were around $250, so if you'd like to make a donation, please click on the ChipIn button to the right. Thank you from Durango and Canine Lifeline! |

Honey is a very sweet 9 month-old pup who looks like a miniature Yellow Lab. She arrived at Canine Lifeline from a local county dog pound with a cherry eye which needs surgical correction. Her surgery is scheduled for July 21 at which time she'll also be spayed. Honey is a super-sweet girl who especially loves kids. She's very handshy and gets very nervous when you first put a leash on her as if someone in her past hit her or pulled her roughly by the collar. She warms up very quickly though if you're gentle with her and she loves to cuddle up for lots of hugs and kisses. She's very submissive and not the least bit aggressive when she's scared. She's already come a long way in her foster home and is sure to blossom even more with a kind and caring family to give her lots of TLC. Honey does great in her crate and seems to be housetrained. She's also great with other dogs and cats too. |

Lacey is a one and a half year old Collie/Shepherd mix. She's really a true Heinz-57 so it was hard to come up with a breed mix for her. Lacey came to us from an overcrowded dog shelter in very poor condition. She was very underweight with ribs and hip bones easily visible. She gets along very well with other dogs but prefers to remain on the sidelines rather than getting into the chase and wrestling games. Now that she's feeling a little better, she really enjoys fetching a ball and is very good at it! For now, she's getting lots of TLC and good food. Lacey loves curling up on a cozy blanket in her crate after a good meal! She's a bit shy in new situations but warms up quickly. Lacey likes going for walks and does really well on the leash. She will sit for a treat and really enjoys those treats! Update 7-13-10: X-rays of Lacey's hips showed that she has severe congenital hip dysplasia on both sides that will require double FHO surgery to give her a pain-free life. This is expensive surgery but this sweet young dog deserves a chance a happy and full life where she can run and play without pain. Please consider making a donation to help her. Patty is a very nice 5 year-old Shepherd mix female who came to Canine Lifeline from a very crowded rural county dog pound where her chances of adoption were very slim. She came into the pound as a stray but had clearly had a home recently as she's a chubby girl who was already spayed. Someone had been caring for her so it's a mystery why she ended up homeless. Patty currently weighs about 62 pounds but really needs to lose 10 pounds to be at her healthiest weight. When she came to us, she tested positive for heartwoms so is scheduled to receive treatment in mid-July. Patty is a real sweetheart--good with other dogs and cats too. She seems to be housetrained and is a really easy girl to have around. She would love a home where she could go for a walk everyday to help her get back into shape. She'll be ready for adoption once her heartworm treatment is complete. |
