Lefty is a cute 3 year-old Chihuahua mix male who came to us from an overcrowded rural county dog shelter. He was very frightened at the shelter and not likely to get adopted there so made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have time to relax. Lefty has settled into his foster home and is a Velcro dog with his foster mom. He’s sweet, affectionate, and very attentive to her. When taken out of his comfort zone though, Lefty gets very nervous and can be snippy with new people. He would do best with a single person or couple who lives a quiet lifestyle and can be very patient with Lefty as he adjusts to his new home. He would not do well with children or in a home with a lot of activity. Lefty does get along well with other dogs so might enjoy having a calm canine companion in his new home who he can follow around. Lefty has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He weighs about 14 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Lefty. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
