Louie is a shy but sweet 1 year-old Chihuahua/Corgi mix male with quite a story to tell. He was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by his owner and on the way up to Canine Lifeline he got frightened and got loose on the transport. He was running around Louisville KY (hence the name Louie!) for 8 days before he let his guard down and was captured. Louie has been with us a few weeks now and he’s relaxing and realizing that things are going to be OK. He loves to be around other dogs so a home with another canine pal or two would help his confidence as he adjusts to a new home. Louie is still shy meeting new people but is feeling more comfortable visiting Petco now and is less fearful each week. He’s very affectionate and attentive once he knows you and is sure to make a great friend for a kind and patient person who’ll give him time to adjust. Given his shyness, Louie would do best in a quiet mature home that has a secure fenced yard. Louie has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained. He weighs about 17 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. Louie is neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Louie. An application must be submitted and approved before we schedule meets with our dogs. We try to respond to all inquiries the same day they’re received so if you don’t get an email from us within 24 hours please check your spam folder or junkmail to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
