This little guy is Nacho, a 5-7 year-old Chihuahua mix who was picked up as a stray in a rural county. It’s a good thing he was found before something horrible happened to him as this pint-sized boy only weighs about 6 pounds and wouldn’t have been able to fend for himself very long. When he arrived at the shelter, he was clearly in need of medical attention so made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the TLC that he needed. Nacho’s teeth were in horrible shape when he arrived so our vet had to remove almost all of them to give Nacho a healthy new lease on life. This boy really loves his canned food so isn’t any worse for the wear after his extractions. Nacho was also found to have luxating patellas in both back legs but, as with many small dogs, surgery to repair them wasn’t advised. He will need to stay on the slim side to avoid putting too much stress on his knees. Nacho gets along well with other small dogs and is looking for a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy life. He loves napping in the sunshine or curling up on his cozy bed for a snooze. We have yet to hear this little guy bark. He’s very easy going and no problem at all to have around. Nacho is as sweet as can be and gets along well with all people that he meets. Nacho weighs about 6 pounds and his adoption fee is $125. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Nacho. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
