Presley-ADOPTED!

Presley is a very sweet and lovable 3-4 month-old Pug mix male who was found along the side of a road in KY with his litter mates when they were about 5 weeks old. The little family went into a foster home there until they were old enough for adoption but Presley stayed behind as he had an old injury to one of his back legs which had to be taken care of before adoption. His injuries were consistent with him having been stepped on as a very young puppy—his left hip had been dislocated and the bone broken at his knee. He could not put any weight on that leg as the leg was shorter than the others. Every time he tried, he would fall down so the vet recommended amputation as the best course for him. Missing a back leg hasn’t slowed this boy down at all—in fact, he’s much more comfortable and active without that leg. His amputation was performed on January 4 and he has healed so nicely that the shelter looked for a rescue to take him and find him a perfect new home. Presley made the trip to Canine Lifeline recently and is eager to start the next chapter of his life. Presley is a very kind and gentle puppy who gets along well with other dogs, cats, and all people that he’s met. He is working on housetraining (which is tough for a puppy when it’s cold and snowy outside) but is getting the hang of it. He can be crated for about 4 hours during the day without having an accident! Presley is a typical puppy in that he loves toys of all kinds and lots of playtime each day. He weighs about 11 pounds now and may be about 25-30 pounds once he’s full-grown. His adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Presley. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
