Meet Yoda, a cute and cuddly 2-3 year-old Boston Terrier/Boxer mix male, who is a great size at only about 31 pounds. This friendly guy found himself homeless at an overcrowded county dog shelter so made the trip to Canine Lifeline to have more time to find the perfect new home. Upon arrival, we noticed that Yoda had decreased muscle mass in one rear leg and a significant limp. X-rays revealed an old injury to his hip and a luxating patella (floating kneecap) in that leg. He underwent a femoral head ostectomy to repair the hip socket and had patella repair at the same time. Yoda has recovered very well from those surgeries and is now off of all exercise restrictions so is ready for adoption. He loves to go for walks and leash walks are the best thing for him now as he works to regain muscle mass in that leg. Yoda does very well with other dogs so would enjoy having a dog in his size range to pal around with and play games of chase and wrestling. Yoda has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Yoda. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Yoda’s surgeries cost about $1500 so if you’d like to make a donation to help with his medical expenses, it would be much appreciated. Donations may be made on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Yoda and Canine Lifeline!
