If you love Border Collies, you’re going to want to meet Abby,  a beautiful but very camera-shy 5-6 year-old spayed female. She was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by her owner who could not keep her any longer. We don’t know what circumstances caused Abby to lose her home but she’s making the best of having to start over and is eager to find a great new family to love. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get many pics of Abby because as soon as she realized we had a camera in hand, she wanted no part of it! She is a really gorgeous dog who is all Border Collie—edgy, quirky, but super-smart and loyal. She gets along well with other dogs although she will try to herd her fellow foster dogs to keep them in line. Abby also has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She can be a little shy and nervous in new situations and with a lot of activity so urban living wouldn’t be to her liking. Abby would love a quiet home in the country with a secure aboveground fenced yard where she can relax and enjoy life. Abby weighs about 45 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Abby. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
