Ashley is a very friendly and outgoing 1 year-old who looks like a mix of Anatolian Shepherd complete with floppy ears, tan coat, and black muzzle. She was found as a stray in a rural county in very poor condition several months ago. Her skin was raw and bleeding and she had significant hairloss. Fortunately, the person who found her got her the vet care she needed and fostered her until a rescue could be found for her. Ashley had demodectic mange (noncontagious to people or other dogs) and underwent successful treatment for that. By the time we were contacted about her, her skin was already much improved and her coat had largely grown back. As you can see in her photos, Ashley looks great and is eager to find herself a wonderful new home so she can make up for lost time. Ashley is still very much of a puppy and has lots of energy and little training to date. She’s super-sweet though and eager to please so working with her on obedience training should be a rewarding experience. Ashley has done well with crate-training in her foster home and picks up new routines quickly. She should be able to master the house rules quickly in her new home with some consistent supervision. Ashley is very friendly with other dogs so would enjoy having a canine pal in her new home to show her the ropes. Leash training is a work in progress for Ashley but she’ll soon be walking like a pro with a little more practice. She weighs about 48 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Ashley. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Ashley-ADOPTED!
Posted in: Adopted!
Ashley willingly jumped up into and rode quietly in her crate. She did a wonderful job meeting our prospective families today while they waited to meet their forever dog. She snuggled with her weekend mom but willingly went for a quick jog with Emmet’s forever brother but was happy to see her foster mom. She is very food motivated which will make training easy. She was more interested in the cats’ food then the cats at the vets today. Looking forward to her coming back next weekend if her forever family hasn’t been found.
Ashley was our weekend foster. She is the most lovable girl who cannot get enough loving. She came and made herself at home. She listened well and came inside when called. She met the neighbor kids and loved giving them some loving. There will be a lucky family who adopts her.
Ashley is a sweet young pup. She enjoys a nice walk on a leash and can be a bit strong because of her size, but she’s very gentle. She seems to like other dogs and all the volunteers. Due to her age, she would probably do well with someone who likes to walk or can give her some exercise and enrichment.
Ashley is a doll!
This beautiful young dog has not an easy time in her young life but she is ready for her forever home. She does need some training because she is still has a lot of puppy in her, but she does seem eager to please her human friends.
She’s an affectionate and sweet girl who deserves to have a family where she will be given the security and care she needs.
