Baby is a little Chihuahua mix girl who is estimated to be about 11 years-old. She was found as a stray and taken to the local county dog shelter. She wasn’t claimed there so made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could receive the medical attention that she needed. Baby arrived at the shelter missing many teeth and those she did have were in pretty bad shape. It’s amazing she was able to survive outdoors on her own for any length of time but fortunately, she did. After arriving here with us, Baby saw our vet for a dental cleaning and a number of extractions. Although she’s now left with just a handful of teeth, she loves to eat and mealtime is just about her favorite time of day. Baby loves attention from her human friends and doesn’t really like to share it with other dogs so would do best in a home as the only dog. She loves to be carried around and will snuggle with you all day if she could. Baby has done well in her crate and takes care of business very quickly when she goes outdoors. She loves to curl up on a pillow and comfy blanket. She certainly deserves to live the life of a pampered pup and never have to worry about being homeless again. Baby weighs about 7 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Baby. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Baby-PENDING

I have been fostering Baby for the past few weeks. She was initially quite timid when she first arrived from the transport. At that point, I gave her a small cushy bed and blanket where she snuggled in immediately. Within a few minutes, she had begun to relax and since then, we have been buddies.
She has come out of her shell and has revealed her spunky personality. She loves to go outside in the yard where she promptly will do her business. She can run amazingly fast but she is also happy to cuddle with me. She also loves to snuggle in her bed with her blanket.
At approximately 11 years of age, Baby is a surprisingly active and funny little dog. Although I have two dogs of my own, she is not very interested in them and she does not appreciate it when they get too close to her face. Apparently, she just needs her own space!
We will never know how Baby survived as a stray in rural Kentucky, but she is now looking for a comfortable, loving home of her own. She deserves nothing less.
