Bailey is a very pretty 7-8 month-old Aussie/Retriever mix female who came to Canine Lifeline along with her Aussie mom and 6 siblings so they could find great new homes. While we don’t know who dad is, we suspect a Retriever of some sort as some of the pups resemble either a Golden or Flat-coated Retriever. The dogs’ owner, who had them living outside in a pen, reached out to the local shelter for help with them as none were spayed or neutered and the pups were now at the age when they could start reproducing. The shelter in turn reached out to us for help with them and they all made the trip to Canine Lifeline to enjoy life in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. The pups are all very friendly with people and other dogs but are going to need lots of training as indoor life is a new experience for them. Bailey would benefit from living in a home where she’ll have a canine companion to help show her the ropes as well as a yard with a secure aboveground fence. She is working on crate-training and housetraining in her foster home and will need to continue both in her adoptive home. Since so much is new to her, she is going to need a family who is able to get her outside every couple of hours during the day as she works on her house manners. She cannot be left alone for long workdays. The pups had no idea what walking on a leash was about the day they arrived but all are quickly getting the hang of it and learning how much fun it is to go for a walk with their human friends. Bailey is a smart and very beautiful dog who’s going to blossom with the family who has the time and energy to devote to an active young dog. Bailey weighs about 30 pounds currently and we expect she may be about 45-50 pounds once full-grown. Her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Bailey. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
