Banjo

Banjo is a very bright-eyed and alert 4-5 year-old Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix neutered male with a spring in his step and a very friendly demeanor. This boy has had a rough life as he came into a county dog shelter as a stray back in November, was adopted from there, but recently reclaimed by the shelter as he was found living on a chain without food and water. Fortunately, this sweet dog is now with us and working on finding a truly loving forever home where he’ll be a treasured member of his family. The shelter had estimated Banjo to be about 8 years-old but we think he’s much younger than that. This boy is ready to make up for lost time and looks forward to lots of fun adventures in his new home. He’d make a great walking, hiking, or trail buddy for his new family and might even enjoy learning some agility once he’s mastered some basic obedience. Banjo gets along very well with other dogs, has had excellent crate manners in his foster home, and should be able to master the house rules quickly in his new home. Banjo was adopted from us but recently returned after two weeks because his adopter said he played too rough with her other dog and exhibited some separation anxiety when she left the home. We have not observed any separation anxiety with Banjo in his foster home. He is crated around other dogs when no one is home and he has been very comfortable in his crate. Banjo does love wrestling with his fellow foster dogs so would enjoy a home where he would have a canine buddy (perhaps a spayed female might be best) who can match and enjoy his style of play. Banjo weighs about 23 pounds but is working to put on 5-7 pounds to reach his ideal weight. His adoption fee is $275. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Banjo. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
