This handsome pup is Barney, an 8 month-old boy with very interesting markings. He came to us from an overcrowded county dog shelter and was labeled as a Boxer mix there. We see a lot of Mountain Cur in him too but without a DNA test, his breed mix is anyone’s guess. Barney is a typical active, energetic young dog who needs a family who has the time and energy to devote to training and exercising a pup. He gets along well with other dogs so having another playful canine in his home would be great for Barney. He wouldn’t be happy left alone for long workdays and would probably enjoy doggie daycare. Barney met kitties at the vet clinic and was interested but not aggressive with them. He would likely want to play with cats but could likely live with them in harmony after an adjustment period. When taking his pics, we worked with Barney on the sit command and he seems to be a quick learner and very eager to please. Like all pups, Barney needs work on the leash and would benefit from enrolling in an obedience class with his new family to hone his skills. Barney currently weighs about 40 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Barney. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs.  All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
