Meet Buddy, a painfully shy 3 year-old Husky/Beagle mix male who’s looking for a quiet home where he can truly relax and enjoy life. This little guy came into an overcrowded county dog shelter and was very frightened there. He made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he could take his time finding the perfect new home. We don’t have any history on Buddy’s pre-shelter life but he is extremely shy when meeting new people and in new situations. Buddy is very comfortable around other dogs though so he is going to need a home where he’ll have a canine buddy who will show him the ropes and help boost his confidence when he’s uncertain about things. Although it takes him awhile to warm up to new people, Buddy is a great friend once he’s comfortable with someone. He’s very friendly and affectionate with his foster mom and loves to give lots of kisses. Buddy is still very unsure of himself on a leash and tends to stick close to his handler making it very difficult to walk with him. Having a canine walking buddy will help him in this area as well as he begins to realize how enjoyable walking on a leash can be. Given his shyness, Buddy is going to need a home in a quiet neighborhood with a yard that has a secure aboveground fence. Urban or high-density suburban living would be very frightening for him. We’re looking forward to seeing this sweet boy thrive and blossom in his new home! Buddy weighs about 32 pounds and his adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Buddy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
