This cute blonde pup is Butterscotch, a 4 month-old Lab/Mountain Cur mix male—or at least that’s our best guess! We don’t have any history on this pup as he came to us from an overcrowded rural county dog shelter. Butterscotch is a typical puppy—loves to play hard, take a quick nap, and play again! He is enjoying life in a foster home where he can play with his fellow foster pups while waiting for a family of his very own. Butterscotch has been amazed by this week’s snowfall as it was certainly his first experience with the fluffy white stuff covering the ground. He didn’t know what to make of it at first but soon realized that tearing around in the snow was a whole lot of fun. Butterscotch has been working on crate-training and housetraining in his foster home and will need to continue both in new new home. He will need a family who will be able to let him outside about every 3-4 hours during the day while he works on housetraining. At his age, being left alone for long workdays isn’t an option for Butterscotch. He’s just learning what a leash is all about but should get the hang of it with some daily practice. Having a canine buddy in his new home to show him the ropes would be great for Butterscotch. He weighs about 21 pounds currently and we expect he may be 45-50 pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Butterscotch. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age.
