This gorgeous 6 month-old Hound/Border Collie mix is Callie. She was surrendered to a shelter by her family who said they had too many dogs to care for and wanted to see Callie be able to have the best life possible. She came to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for a permanent new home. Callie has been a friend to everyone since coming to us. She gets along very well with other dogs and makes friends quickly with new people. Callie has been working on crate-training in her foster home and will need to continue that in her adoptive home. It shouldn’t take long for her to catch on to the house rules with some patient and consistent positive direction from her new family. She would certainly enjoying having a canine buddy in her new home to help show her the ropes but would probably do fine as the only dog in the home provided her family has lots of time to spend with her. Callie does quite well on a leash for a kid and will only improve with daily practice in her new home. For a youngster, she has quite a calm and gentle demeanor and was an absolute pro in front of the camera. Callie currently weighs about 37 pounds but may be about 45-50 pounds once full-grown. Her adoption fee is $325. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
