Canine Lifeline Launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser

Canine Lifeline is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from September 1 through November 30th to raise funds for the medical care of our dogs. Canine Lifeline will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes (please no flipflops or slippers) collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit the medical care of our dogs. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at:  6105 Wilber Ave. Parma 44129.

All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses.

In the US alone, over 600 million pairs of shoes are thrown away per year. The materials used to manufacture a pair of shoes are created from chemical compounds that will create health hazards if left to disintegrate openly or in landfills. By donating your gently worn, used and news shoes, your shoes are given a second chance to make a difference.
