Chloe is a beautiful 6 year-old purebred Black Lab who was surrendered to a shelter by her family who could no longer keep her. We don’t know what circumstances led to Chloe losing her home but we can only imagine that her family was sad to see her go. From the shelter, Chloe made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for the perfect new home. Chloe is everything you’d want in a Lab—friendly, outgoing, affectionate, playful, and with plenty of spunk. According to the paperwork that was sent with her, Chloe was born in August 2013 but she acts MUCH younger than her 6 years. She knows some commands including sit, shake hands, and down but is VERY strong on the leash so will definitely need work in that area. Using an EasyWalk Harness as she works on her leash manners will make walks much more enjoyable. Like most Labs, Chloe is extremely food-motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. She gets along well with other dogs, has excellent crate manners, and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee that. Chloe didn’t react well to the resident kitty at the vet clinic so she will need a cat-free home. Chloe weighs about 65 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Chloe. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We respond to inquiries via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Chloe-ADOPTED!

I can’t believe this beautiful girl is still waiting for a family to call her own. She’s such a sweet dog!! I hope she finds her forever home soon!!
I had an opportunity to walk Chloe again this week. It was as if I had a totally different dog than I had earlier. I was still using a regular slip lead and no training equipment and she walked like a pro. There was no pulling. She walked just a little ahead of me at a comfortable pace. We were walking near a busy road, and she was not bothered by all the noise. She seems to be a very trainable dog.
Chloe is a beautiful girl. She is sweet as can be but is very strong on the leash. As most labs are, she’s very friendly and seems to want to be around people and where the action is so from the moment she’s leashed up, she’s ready to go! But she does settle down after a bit of walking. With regular walks and some training, I believe Chloe will quickly learn her leash manners and will be an excellent walking or hiking partner. If you love labs, you will want to meet Chloe for sure!!
This big girl has lots of charisma. Her power is true- when I walked her today, she pulled hard on the leash at first but about 15 min into the stroll, she settled down and walked much better. Two other dogs accompanied us and that made her VERY happy and she walked more calmly then too 🙂 Each time I bent down to adjust her collar and pet her, I was rewarded with tail wags and kisses! Please come check her out.
Chloe is a great dog. She is very energetic and would probably enjoy a big yard to run around in. She might even like a pool. I had her near a pond and I thought we might both end up swimming. She is strong, but as others have said, she would definitely benefit from an Easy Walk harness. I think Chloe might like a home with kids. I can envision her running around playing ball and being the life of the party. If given the chance, I’m sure she would be a welcome addition to a family.
I recently had a chance to spend a few hours with Chloe. She is a handsome, friendly dog with a beautiful shiny coat. She does seem like a younger (1-2 year old) lab because she is so active.
She was very excited meeting other dogs and there was no sign of aggression at all. She knows the “sit” command and is definitely trainable.
During the time I spent with Chloe, she slowly calmed down and relaxed. It seems that she is a little unsettled and still trying to adjust to losing her home with her family. Once she had relaxed with me, she was very sweet and happy to be petted.
Chloe has all the makings of a great dog. She just needs a chance to settle down and adjust to a new forever home.
Chloe is a smart and really beautiful dog. She is strong when being walked on leash so she will need some training and practice. An EZ-Walk harness should be very helpful.
She is a smart dog, so consistent training should go well especially since she loves treats. She does seem younger than she is. She is active so she will need the opportunity to run and play often. She also seems to get along well with other dogs.
Chloe could be a great addition to an active family whose members are experienced with labs and bigger dogs.
