Claire is a very pretty 1 year-old pup who was found as a stray and made the trip to Canine Lifeline to find a new home once her stray hold was up. The shelter called her a Shepherd mix but we think she might have some Great Pyrenees in her family tree given her pretty white coat and markings. Claire is on the smaller side though. She weighs about 40 pounds but is thin and needs to gain 5-10 pounds to be at her ideal weight. Claire was extremely shy when she first came to us and had absolutely no idea what a leash was for. She is doing much better now but she will likely need a kind and patient owner who will let her acclimate to her new surroundings at her own pace. Claire loves other dogs so we think she would do best if she had a canine companion in her new home to follow around and learn from. Claire has been working on crate-training in her foster home and should continue that in her new home. With some positive direction on the part of her new family, she should be able to master the housetraining routine fairly quickly. Given her shyness, Claire would do best in a home with a secure aboveground fenced yard. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Claire. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
