Coco is a very friendly and outgoing 3 year-old Lab/Terrier mix male who came to Canine Lifeline after testing positive for heartworms at an overcrowded rural county dog shelter. The shelter didn’t have the resources to help him so he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to get the lifesaving treatment that he needed. Coco has done very well with his treatment and is now ready to work on finding a great new home. This guy loves people and makes fast friends wherever he goes. He can be a little particular about his dog friends though and seems to do best with calm females. Coco has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Although he’s had a rough life so far, things have turned the corner for Coco and he’s looking forward to many happy years with his new family. Coco would love to enroll in an obedience class with his new family so he can be the best dog he can be. Coco weighs about 32 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, current on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Coco. An approved application is required before we set up meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Coco’s heartworm treatment cost about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care so that we may save another dog in the future, please do so on our website at or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Coco and Canine Lifeline!
