Meet Corky, a 7 year-old Chihuahua/Doxie mix male who was surrendered to a shelter from a home in which there were too many dogs. His owners had to move in with other family members and the dogs were relegated to living outside which was not feasible with winter coming. He was surrendered to a shelter with several other dogs and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have more time to find the perfect new home. Corky is very shy and timid initially but sweet and loving once he feels comfortable with someone. He gets along fine with other dogs but can be a bit grumbly with them at first meeting. Corky really dislikes cold weather and enjoys burying himself in cozy blankets after coming in from outdoors. We’re not sure how much indoor time he had in his previous home so he may need work on housetraining in his new home. Corky would enjoy a nice quiet home where he can really relax and enjoy life. Corky weighs about 13 pounds and his adoption fee is $150. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Since coming to Canine Lifeline, Corky has had a dental cleaning and now flashes a pearly white smile. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Corky. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so won’t place any of our dogs in a home with children less than 7 years of age.We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
