Cosmo

Cosmo is a super-charming 14-week old pup who definitely had a rough start in life but is now mended and ready to begin his puppyhood in earnest. This little Cattle Dog mix was found as a stray all by his lonesome with horrible skin (demodectic mange) and a broken tail which had healed with a couple of kinks in it. His skin was treated at the shelter and when he was stable, he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to continue his medical care with us before working on finding his forever home. Cosmo’s skin has healed and it’s hard to imagine him as the hairless, itchy-skinned pup from weeks ago. He came to us as a quirky little guy but has had the chance to socialize with other pups since coming to us and now enjoys playing with other dogs immensely. He loves meeting dogs of all ages and likes to go nose to nose with a new dog and give them a kiss. If there are no other dogs available, Cosmo can keep himself entertained with toys. He enjoys toys of all kinds and can also relax with his Nylabone when playtime is over. Cosmo is not yet housetrained but he is very responsive to his human friends so should learn quickly in his new home, especially if he has a canine buddy to show him the ropes. This little guy had his first lesson on the leash recently and didn’t know what to make of that but with daily practice in his new home, should soon be looking forward to daily walks. Cosmo loves snuggling with his human friends when it’s naptime and we can’t wait to see this little guy living a very pampered life in his new home. Cosmo does need a home where his family is around much of the time, He wouldn’t do well left alone for long workdays. Cosmo weighs about 15 pounds currently and may be 35-40 pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations for his age including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Cosmo. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
