Cousteau is one of a litter of 7 Cattledog mix pups who were found abandoned in a box on the side of a road in early December when they were about 8 weeks-old. Fortunately, they were found before any harm came to them and taken to the local shelter. They were given lots of TLC and treated for a skin infection at the shelter. Once they were given the all-clear, they made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they could have fun in a foster home while they searched for permanent new homes. Cousteau is now about 4 months-old (estimated birthdate late September 2019) and is a very sweet puppy with typical puppy energy and curiosity. He loves playing tug and wrestling with his siblings but also enjoys snuggling with his human friends. Cousteau has been working on crate-training and housetraining in his foster home and will need to continue both in his adoptive home. He will need to go outside every 3-4 hours during the day as he works on housetraining and cannot be left alone for long workdays. Puppies are lots of fun but also a lot of work so please be sure you have the time and energy to devote to raising a pup before submitting an online application. Cousteau weighed 17 pounds on Dec 26 when he was neutered and we expect he’ll be in the 40-50 pound range once full-grown. His adoption fee is $350. He’s neutered, on monthly heartworm preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Cousteau. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children less than 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
