Curt is a handsome 1 year-old pup whose breed mix is really anyone’s guess. This guy found himself homeless at a rural county dog shelter and made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have more time to find himself the perfect new home. Since we have no history on him, we’re guessing there might be some Beagle, Terrier of some sort, and maybe a little Aussie in the mix as he does have specks of blue in both of his eyes. He’s a true Heinz-57 for sure! Curt was quite shy when he first came to us but is very comfortable now in his foster home and always has kisses ready to give his foster mom. He enjoys playing with other dogs so would love a home where he would have canine playmates 24/7. Curt has done very well with crate-training in his foster home and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. He is still a little shy in new situations and when meeting new people but it doesn’t take him long to come out of his shell and make friends. Curt weighs about 21 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Curt. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Curt-ADOPTED!
Posted in: Adopted!
We adopted “Curt” on April 20, 2019 and we are in the two week trial pending period. As soon as we got him home we knew we would be a happy family. “Curt” is now known as “Grady”. Grady spent the rest of the weekend snuggling and sleeping. As soon as he was well rested he started showing more of his personality. He started prancing and galloping and pouncing on his toys. We have so much fun watching and laughing at his adorable antics. He is so smart! We taught him to “sit” using a combination of verbal command and hand signal. Only in a matter of a few days he sits using only the hand signal! We see no problem with him learning all the basics and even advanced doggie skills. We are getting him adjusted to a daily routine without any problems also. He is so sweet and amazing. We just can’t believe how lucky we are to have found this sweet boy!
