Dave-ADOPTED!

Dave and his “buddy” Sam are 5-6 year-old Chihuahua mixes who were found as strays together. As small as they are (only 5-6 pounds), it’s amazing that they lasted anytime at all on their own outside. After their stray hold at the shelter was up, they made the trip to Canine Lifeline to be able to relax in a foster home while searching for permanent new homes. What we found immediately upon arrival is that Dave and Sam are most definitely NOT a bonded pair; in fact, at first they couldn’t tolerate being around each other at all! That total dislike has largely subsided since it’s been a couple of months since they’ve been neutered but we still think Dave and Sam would like to go their separate ways and be adopted into their own homes. Dave and Sam do get along well with other small dogs though so might enjoy having a little canine buddy in their respective new homes. Each might also enjoy being the only dog in the home as they both love being held and cuddled by their human friends. They would each do well in a home where their family has plenty of time to work with them on housetraining. They each do well in a crate but can have accidents if left alone for a long workday. Dave’s adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Dave. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under the age of 7 years. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
