Davy is a very sweet and loving 9 month-old Lab/Collie mix male who was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter along with his two sisters. We don’t know their story but it’s likely somone’s dog had pups and they couldn’t find homes for all of them so one day they decided they had too many dogs and took the three 9 month-old littermates to the shelter. Davy is a little shy in new situations and came to us without any idea what a leash was all about. He’s a quick learner though and, after about a week, now walks quite well on a leash. He does his best to stick close to his handler so with more practice, he will build up his confidence and should soon be walking on a leash like a pro. Davy has been friendly and affectionate with all people that he’s met since coming to us and has done well with other dogs too. He might enjoy having a canine buddy in his new home to show him the ropes and help boost his confidence. Davy has done well with crate-training in his foster home and will need to continue that in his new home as he gets used to the house rules. We’re sure that Davy is going to blossom into a fabulous companion under the TLC of his new family. He can’t wait to experience how wonderful a dog’s life can and should be in his very own home. Davy weighs about 40 pounds currently and we expect he may be 50-60 pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $375. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Davy. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
