This bright-eyed and alert girl is Dixie, a 1.5 year-old who looks like a mix of Australian Kelpie and Shepherd. She was turned into an overcrowded county dog shelter by her owner who could no longer care for her. We don’t know what circumstances led to Dixie losing her home but we have found her to be an absolute delight since coming to Canine Lifeline. Dixie gets along beautifully with other dogs and has been very friendly with all people that she’s met. She has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. Dixie LOVES squeaky toys and would love to play all day long. She does pretty well on a leash and would love to be able to go on lots of walks, hikes, and jogs in her new home. Dixie is up for lots of adventures and hopes to find a home where her family is too! Dixie weighs about 39 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Dixie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
