Drake is a very handsome 9 month-old Great Pyrenees/Heeler mix pup who finds himself looking for a new home after this family could no longer care for him. We don’t know what type of life he led prior to coming to us but what a sweetheart he is! Everyone who’s met Drake has fallen head over heels for this calm, gentle, and very charming young dog. The day he arrived here with us, it was apparent that Drake had never been on a leash before as he sat down and absolutely refused to move. With a little encouragement and watching the other dogs going for a walk, Drake soon mustered up the courage to give leash-walking a try. It’s still a work in progress but he is beginning to learn how much fun it is go for a walk and explore his surroundings. Lots of things are new for Drake but he has done well with crate-training and will need to continue that along with housetraining in his new home. Given his initial shyness, he would benefit from having a yard with a secure aboveground fence as well as confident canine buddy who can show him the ropes. We’re very excited to see Drake settle into his new home as a true family member. He’s sure to blossom under the loving care of his new family. Drake weighs about 47 pounds currently and may be 60+ pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $375. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
