Elsa is a cute 1 year-old girl who looks like she might be a mix of Pug and Shiba Inu. That’s just a guess, of course, as she came to us as a stray from a county dog shelter so we have no history on her. Elsa is an active and spunky girl who gets along well with other dogs when she’s out and about for walks but doesn’t care to live with another dog. She loves her people and doesn’t want to share time with any other animals. Elsa gets very attached to her humans and may have a tendency to be overly protective so she will need an experienced owner who will keep her on an even keel. She’s done well with crate-training in her foster home so should pick up the housetraining routine in her new home with some patience and consistency on the part of her new family. After playtime, she settles down nicely in her crate for a nap. Elsa hasn’t had much experience on a leash yet but she’s eager to learn and will soon be walking like a pro. She’s very food-motivated so working with her on obedience should be a rewarding experience. Elsa weighs about 20 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Elsa. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Elsa-ADOPTED!

What a cutie Elsa is! Sweet and good natured! She can be a little picky about her canine companions, but shows nothing but love to her people. Elsa would be fine as the only dog of the house so she can shower all her love on you and she can be the center of your world. Elsa would definitely be a loyal girl!
I enjoyed walking Elsa today at Petco. She was having a great time with everyone inside as well, seeking love and attention with her cute little grin. She is such a perfect size and lovely little dog. I hope she gets her forever home soon!
Little Elsa is such a sweet, gentle pup. I love her little face that is so eager and attentive. SHe just rolls with all the chaos at Petco on a busy adoption day, and is calm, doesn’t bark or jump, and is good with the other pups. She walks like a dream too, no pulling on the lead, does nice when walking with another of her CLL buddies. I hope someone comes to meet this little hidden treasure,,,she will open her heart full of love to her forever family, and they will be so glad they adopted her!
Elsa and I spent a lot of time together today at Petco, and I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did. The cutest thing she did was slide down the grass hill on her belly – more than once! Very entertaining! We tried to get her to sit for a treat, and after some convincing, she did – but needs more work on that to become a pro. As Kim said, she loved being petted. She was happy to sit on the grassy hill and watch the day go by, that is when she wasn’t sliding down on her belly! Hoping she finds her new home soon!
We’ve been fostering Elsa and she is an adorable bundle of energy! She hasn’t had any accidents in the house and she has fabulous crate manners. On occasion she’ll go into her crate to “chill”. She loves people and just can’t get enough attention! She wants nothing more than to be on your lap and to be pet. She doesn’t need or want canine companionship and is immediately protective of her human friends when her foster brothers are near. She has been eager to meet the few visitors we have had. She enjoys being outside and barks at the occasional passerby; however, she quiets down nicely when called.
Elsa did well for me today. She’s very eager on her walk and would probably do best with a harness. She did well in the store around other dogs. After our walk, we sat down under a tree and she was very affectionate, wanting pets and to give kisses. She went back easily into her crate and was quiet even when some of the other dogs were barking.
Elsa has a really adorable face. She’s a moderately active dog and enjoyed our walk, but also enjoyed sitting on my lap and getting petted. She went potty for me outside and didn’t pull on the leash. She was OK going back in her cage and didn’t bark. She seemed nervous with all the activity going on at Petco so may enjoy a bit of a more quiet environment or it just may take her a little while to become comfortable around people. She’s a nice dog and hopefully will find a great home.
I volunteer for this rescue and got to spend time today with sweet little Elsa! She has pretty good leash manners and is just the happiest little girl. She loves to snuggle too! She gets along well with other dogs. Elsa would be a perfect companion!
Elsa is a sweet little girl. My daughter, Kristen, and I had a great time walking her today at Petco. Her face is so endearing with the cutest little ears and pretty brown eyes. She is small, but not so small that you would not see her in front of you. She walked on a leash very nicely and overall did well in the busy adoption day at Petco. SHe definitely loved to be petted and loved, and did well w/o any jumping or over-excitement. Elsa is definitely going to bring joy and love to the lucky person or family who falls in love with her like we did today, and gives her a wonderful loving forever home.
