Elsie is a gorgeous 1 year-old Aussie mix female with a beautiful white coat reminiscent of a Great Pyr. She was surrendered to a shelter by her family who said she had separation anxiety and hated to be crated. She also tended to herd the young children in the home and nip at their heels. From the shelter, Elsie made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for her permanent new home. Elsie has done fine in a crate in her foster home, perhaps because she is around other dogs. She loves playing with other dogs so will need to go to a home where she has an active canine buddy to pal around with. Elsie would also enjoy having a family who is around much of the time. She is still very much of a puppy and has lots of energy so will need a family who has plenty of time to spend training her and giving her the daily exercise she needs. Spending long workdays alone would not work for Elsie. For a young dog, Elsie walks quite well on a leash. She’d love to be your walking, hiking, or jogging buddy. As pretty as she is, she’s sure to turn a lot of heads when she’s out for a walk in her new neighborhood. Elsie has been very friendly with all people that she’s met—maybe a little too friendly as she does like to jump up for attention. She would benefit from enrolling in an obedience class with her family so she can be the best canine good citizen she can be. Elsie weighs about 42 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized.
