Looking for a young dog who’s sure to pick up the pace at your house? That’s Ember, our adoptable 6-7 month-old Cattle Dog mix who will certainly keep you on your toes each and every day. This beautiful little girl was found as a stray and when she wasn’t claimed, she stayed in a foster home for a week or so before coming to Canine Lifeline to work on finding herself the perfect new home. During that week in foster care, her foster family found that she’s a very smart dog who learns new things very quickly. She will sit and high-five now for a treat and is eager to learn lots more with her new family. This pup would make a great agility dog for someone looking to engage in that fun activity. Ember does need a home where her family is around much of the time so they can provide her with plenty of exercise, training, and mental stimulation. She would not do well left alone for long workdays. Ember gets along great with other dogs so would benefit from having a playful canine buddy in her new home or regular trips to doggie daycare. She has been working on crate-training in her foster home and doing well with that. With continued positive direction, Ember should be able to pick up the house rules readily in her new home. Ember does need some work on her leash manners as she gets very excited on walks but we’re sure with some daily practice in her new home, she’ll soon be walking like a pro. Ember weighs about 27 pounds and her adoption fee is $375. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Ember. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
