This handsome young man is Flip, a 6-7 month-old Boxer/Beagle mix (or at least that’s our best guess!) who’s one spunky puppy! Flip came into an overcrowded county dog shelter as a stray so we have no history on his pre-shelter life. We suspect though that he was just too much puppy for someone. Flip is extremely friendly and outgoing but appears to have had little obedience training as he has a hard time respecting boundaries. He loves to play with other dogs but can be a very rough player and over the top for some dogs. He can also tend to play with people as if he’s playing with another dog so needs work to curb his mouthiness. Flip would be too rough for children. We think the best home for Flip is with another playful canine with a similar style of play with whom he can blow off some steam every day. After playtime once he’s tired and calm, his humans can then work with him on his canine manners. Flip has done well with crate-training in his foster home so we think that with some consistent positive direction on the part of his new family, he should master the house rules without too much trouble. Flip does pretty well on a leash for a kid and looks forward to having lots of fun adventures in his new home. He currently weighs about 29 pounds but is still growing and may be about 40-45 pounds once full-grown. His adoption fee is $325. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Flip. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
