Frankie-ADOPTED!

Frankie is an exceptionally nice 2 year-old Yellow Lab who’s had a rough go of it lately but he’s finally mended and ready for adoption. This very friendly and outgoing boy came into a rural county dog shelter with an injury to his prepuce or sheath covering his penis. This left his penis completely exposed and necessitated several surgeries to repair. We had never seen anything like this before but thanks to the talented veterinarians at Macedonia Vet Clinic, Frankie was able to receive the surgery he needed in order to live a normal life. At first glance, Frankie now looks like a female as his penis has been tucked under his skin leaving a small opening for him to urinate through. Frankie needs no special care as a result of this surgery and isn’t expected to have any future complications. He has the all clear from the vet to run, play, and have fun with other dogs now which he’s doing with great enthusiasm. Frankie is super friendly with all people that he meets as well but is a strong dog who’s going to need some work on his leash manners. He settles down nicely in his crate once playtime is over and has excellent crate manners. He is likely to be housetrained too and should pick up the rules in his new home very quickly. This wonderful boy can’t wait to find the new family of his dreams! Frankie weighs about 70 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Frankie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.

Frankie’s medical expenses totaled about $750. If you’d like to make a donation to help with his care, you may do so on our website at www.caninelifeline.org or by sending a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125. Thank you from Frankie and Canine Lifeline!
