This handsome little guy is Franklin, a 10 month-old Boston Terrier mix with beautiful markings including specks of brindle in his black coat. He found himself homeless at a rural county dog shelter so made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have time to find the perfect new home. Franklin gets along very well with other dogs so would probably enjoy having a canine pal or two in his new home. He’s also very friendly and affectionate with his human friends. Franklin walks nicely on a leash for a youngster and is looking forward to lots of walks, hikes, or jogs in his new home. He met the resident kitties at the vet clinic and showed no interest in them. Franklin has excellent crate manners so should pick up the housetraining routine quickly in his new home. This all-around great little dog is going to make a terrific companion for one very lucky person or family! Franklin weighs about 21 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Franklin. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
Franklin is a little love bug. He likes everyone and they like him. Who can resist such a cutie pie? He is a true energizer bunny. He loves to play with toys and play tug a war. He is a good little retriever and brings back the toy or he throws the toy in the air and entertains himself. He enjoys riding in the car.
Franklin is one of the biggest wiggle butt dogs I’ve seen. His tail would go crazy when any volunteer would walk up. I didn’t work with him other than a few minutes helping out another volunteer but quickly walked him to the grass when it was time to go and he pottied right away. He was excited on the leash so would probably enjoy walks and may do best with a harness. He very much seemed to like being around volunteers and the other dogs.
Franklin is a sweetheart. As his foster mom, he has been a perfect gentleman. He loves to play with toys and chew on his bones. He knows sit. After a full day outside, he curled up on the sofa to take a break.
You can see by his pictures that Franklin is pretty cute; funny thing about him is that I think he knows he’s cute! I saw him with another volunteer at Petco and noticed that when he wanted attention or when there were treats to be had, he’s sit down in front of you with the cutest, most irresistible expression on his face! I don’t know much else about him, but he looks like a very sweet little dog that would be a fun addition to any family.
