This unique looking girl is Gigi, an 8 month-old mix of Dalmatian and Whippet or at least that’s what the sending shelter guessed that she might be. The shelter that she came from said she was found as a stray so no one can be sure of her breed mix but she does have a cute polka-dotted ear and striking blue eyes (characteristic of a Dalmatian) as well as a slim build (Whippet!). Gigi was very frightened at the shelter so didn’t show well there making it almost impossible for her to get adopted in that environment. She made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would have time to relax and work on finding herself a permanent new home. Gigi can be skittish and nervous in new situations but she does warm up quickly once she knows that someone wants to be her friend. Once she trusts you, you’ve got a friend for life and a pup who loves giving and receiving lots of hugs and affection. Gigi gets along very well with other dogs so would probably do best in a home with a calm, confident canine pal to help show her the ropes and boost her confidence. She has had excellent crate manners in her foster home so may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. This girl will need lots of exercise so a home with a secure fenced yard would be perfect for her. Gigi weighs about 32 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Gigi. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
