Gracie is a very sweet and loving 2-3 year-old girl who looks like a small Lab mixed with some type of Terrier. She was turned into a county dog shelter along with her four scruffy 1-2 year old pups–Gretta, Garbo, Tango, and Tolliver. They all came from a home where there were too many dogs for their elderly owner to care for. Gracie’s pics were taken the day she arrived at Canine Lifeline in mid-February. Her coat was in poor condition and she was in need of some major TLC. After a month in a foster home, Gracie looks so much better now that new pics are in order. She has a very beautiful soft and shiny black coat that just glistens. Gracie is likely to be shy in new situations so her family will need to be patient with her as she gets used to a new environment. Although she gets along well with other dogs, she might do fine in a home as the only dog provided her family has lots of time to spend with her as she really seems to enjoy human companionship. She can be quite submissive around other dogs and doesn’t enjoy the company of rowdy dogs so her canine companions should be kind, low-key, and gentle. Gracie loves her comfy bed in her crate—it’s likely the first time she’s ever experienced any type of pampering and it suits her! She has excellent crate manners so should pick up the housetraining rules quickly in her new home. Gracie weighs about 28 pounds and her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Gracie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
