Gracie is a very active and energetic 1 year-old Lab/Border Collie mix who loves nothing more than tennis balls and playing fetch! You’d be hard-pressed to find a dog who’s more into that than this friendly girl. She was an owner surrender at an overcrowded county dog shelter because her family was moving and couldn’t take her along. Gracie certainly isn’t letting the fact that she’s looking for a new home get her down. She made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she could enjoy life in a foster home while searching for that new home and continues to have fun wherever she goes. Gracie gets along well with other dogs but doesn’t necessarily need to have a canine buddy in her new home as long as she has tennis balls and someone to throw them for her. She would love having a yard with an aboveground fence so she could safely chase the ball to her heart’s content. Gracie is quite strong on a leash so is going to need work on her leash manners. She does better with a harness so that’s recommended as she works on her leash skills. Gracie has done well with crate-training in her foster home and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She is very food-motivated and can catch treats on the fly like a pro. She will also sit on command and is eager to learn lots more with her new family. If you’ve got a great throwing arm and are looking for an active young dog who loves to have fun, Gracie just might be your girl! Gracie weighs about 50 pounds and her adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Gracie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age. We correspond via email so please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
