Gretta has it all—great looks and a fabulous disposition! She’s a beautiful 2 year-old who looks like a mix of Golden Retriever and Husky with her one blue and one brown eye. Gretta came to us from an overcrowded rural county dog shelter so we have no history on her previous life. She may have lived most of her life outdoors before coming into the shelter but she has been a quick study in her foster home and adapted very well to indoor living. She enjoys her comfy bed in her crate and really looks forward to mealtime. Gretta came into the shelter underweight at about 50 pounds and is working on gaining another 10-15 pounds in her foster home to reach her ideal weight of 60-65. She loves other dogs and has been friendly with every dog she’s been introduced to since we’ve had her. Gretta would do well in a home with another active young canine who she can wrestle and play chase with. She has excellent crate manners so should pick up the house rules quickly in her new home. Gretta’s photos were taken the day after she visited the groomer. She was a very good girl for her bath and grooming and tried to give the groomer kisses every chance she got. Gretta’s adoption fee is $350. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. At the time she was spayed, Gretta had a gastropexy done to prevent potential stomach flipping or bloat which can occur more often in large breed dogs. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Gretta. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
