Henry-ADOPTED!

Henry is a very handsome 1 year-old Cattledog mix male with beautiful markings and a great disposition. He was surrendered to a county dog shelter by his family whose lifestyle changed and they no longer had time for him. Henry came to us highly recommended from the shelter where he was a staff and volunteer favorite. Henry loves, loves, LOVES playing with other dogs so definitely needs a canine pal or two in his new home. He would play all day if he could! Regular trips to doggie daycare would also be high on his wishlist. Henry is also very friendly with people and seems to enjoy making new friends wherever he goes. He was adopted for two weeks but recently returned because he wasn’t comfortable with the young grandchildren visiting in his home. If there are kids in his new home, they should be at least 10 years-old as the erratic behavior of very young children seems to make him nervous. Henry is a herding breed though so you can expect if kids run, he will chase. He has done well with crate-training in his foster home so should pick up the house rules easily in his new home. Henry does like to pull on the leash so will need some work in that area. We recommend using an Easy Walk harness with him as he works on his leash manners. He also likes to jump on people for attention but is learning that all good things come to pups who keep their four paws on the ground. Once he’s got some training under his belt, he’s going to make an outstanding walking, hiking, or jogging buddy. Henry weighs about 41 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Henry. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. Please note that we don’t place our dogs in homes with children under 7 years of age.
