Henry is an absolutely adorable 3 year-old Terrier mix male who has a little bit of an underbite suggesting there might be something like Shih Tzu in the mix too. He was found as a stray along with Ernie who we suspect is his brother and both were taken to an overcrowded county dog shelter to see if an owner could be located. When they weren’t claimed, they both made the trip to Canine Lifeline so they would be able to relax in a foster home while they searched for permanent new homes. Henry and Ernie do not need to be adopted together but they do like to roughhouse with each other so anyone looking to adopt a little pair of dogs ought to consider these two. If not adopted with his brother, we do want to place Henry in a home with another dog as gets along very well with other dogs too. He wouldn’t adjust well to being the only dog in the home. In true Terrier fashion, Henry can be vocal at times so wouldn’t be a good match for apartment or condo living. It seems that Henry has not had much experience on a leash so that is a work in progress in his foster home. He has done well with crate-training in his foster home so should pick up the house rules quickly in his new home with direction from his new family. Henry loves people and enjoys cuddling. He is going to make a great little pal for one lucky person or family. Henry weighs about 16 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Henry. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
