Jax-ADOPTED!

Looking for the perfect dog? Take a look at Jax. This phenomenal dog was unfortunately surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter by his owner who had to move in with family and couldn’t bring Jax with him. Jax is a four year-old Aussie mix who is much more calm and low-key than you’d expect when you think of that breed.  He’s definitely a mix so perhaps whatever else is in his family tree has mellowed the Aussie a bit. Jax has one sparkling blue eye and a coat that is very curly in spots so not sure where that’s coming from. This dog has been an absolute gem in his foster home since he made the trip to Canine Lifeline to work on finding a permanent new home. He gets along very well with other dogs but hasn’t shown much interest in playing with them so would probably be fine as the only dog in his home provided his family has plenty of time to spend with him. He is crate-trained and very likely to be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee that. Jax knows a number of commands and walks nicely on a leash. He posed beautifully for his photos and would sit and stay on command. As we said, just about the perfect dog! The shelter who sent Jax to us did tell us that his former owner said that Jax has a seizure about every 3 months but since it is so sporadic, no medication has been prescribed. We haven’t seen any seizures in the time that Jax has been with us. Jax weighs about 55 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. As part of the adoption process, all adopters must commit to a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Jax. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 72 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
