If you love Beagles, you’re going to love our Jitterbug. This 6 year-old Beagle girl with really long ears came into an overcrowded rural county dog shelter as a stray in poor condition—very underweight with teeth badly in need of a dental. Fortunately, a humane society in a neighboring county brought her to their facility for some TLC. After being spayed and having her teeth cleaned, Jitterbug made the trip to Canine Lifeline so she would have more time to find the perfect family to love. In true Beagle fashion, this little girl LOVES to eat and mealtime is just about her favorite time of the day. She weighs about 15 pounds now but is steadily putting on weight and will soon be in prime form. Jitterbug has been doing very well with crate-training in her foster home and has been keeping her crate clean of late. She is learning the housetraining rules and will need to continue working on that in her new home. For a Beagle, Jitterbug is a pretty quiet girl but when she gets excited she does love to let out a giant Beagle bay! Jitterbug gets along very well with other dogs so would enjoy having a canine companion or two in her new home. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Jitterbug. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
