Jolie is a gorgeous 1 year-old Great Pyrenees mix female who came into a county dog shelter as a stray. When she wasn’t claimed, she made the trip to Canine Lifeline so that she would be able to take her time finding the perfect new home. Jolie absolutely loves playing with other dogs and is still very much of a puppy in her mannerisms. She would love to have a playful canine buddy—preferably a neutered male– in her new home and will also need a yard with an aboveground fence as Great Pyrenees are known to not respect an invisible fence. Jolie does pretty well on a leash for a young dog who had not likely had much experience in that area before entering the shelter. She has been getting used to a crate in her foster home and doing well with that. Her new family should be able tu use the crate as a housetraining tool as Jolie works on mastering the house rules in her new home. Characteristic of the breed, Jolie does like to be vocal and will bark at falling leaves, the wind, and just about anything else of interest outside so her new family will have to be prepared for that. She’s a very beautiful, charmng, and affectionate dog who will make a great companion for the person or family who understands the needs of this breed. Jolie weighs about 45 pounds now but is thin and needs to gain at least 10 pounds to be at her ideal weight. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea and tick preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email if you’re interested in Jolie.
